Dental bridges

If you have one or more missing teeth, a good solution is a bridge.

How do bridges work?

If you require a more extensive restoration than a crown or have more than one tooth that needs to be repaired, one or more missing teeth, a good solution is a bridge.

Bridges are usually made of a precious metal base, which gives them a solid structure and makes them hardwearing. If you need a bridge in your smile line, porcelain is usually added to the base to make it look more like real teeth. You can also have an all porcelain bridge, your dentist and the laboratory will provide a tailormade solution for you. A bridge helps to strengthen the prepared teeth and makes chewing and eating easier because they are fixed and can not come out.

The benefits

  • A sturdy way to restore several teeth in a row.
  • Beautiful, natural-looking restoration.
  • Restores the ability to chew and eat as before.

How it works

  1. 01

    Conventional

One or more all porcelain teeth are attached to a crown on one or both sides of a gap. And quite simply 'bridges' the gap.

  2. 02

    Adhesive

An all porcelain tooth is attached to a wing of metal or fibre and the wing is then glued to the adjacent tooth.

  3. 03

    Implant retained

Some bridges can also be fixed to your jaw with dental implants, if you have several teeth next to each other that are missing.

How do I look after a bridge?

Once you have a bridge fitted, you will have to take extra care during your daily hygiene regime to ensure it stays plaque free and does not cause bad breath. We recommend regular visits to your hygienist to ensure you are properly cleaning around your bridge and any other restorations you may have.
